Mac id for xbox one on boxI'd rather have this completely rewritten version sooner than later, even if it means some missing features. It's not perfect and it's not even ready as a replacement in my opinion. Given Apple's policy of keeping quiet on their plans and motives, it is understandable that many people were confused by the direction that FCP is taking.Poor communication aside, Apple have created a great video editing application in FCPX. Import and export XML for third-party workflows like color grading and sound mixingFinal Cut Pro X was a bit of a shock for some long term users of Final Cut. Export audio stems and multiple versions of a finished video using roles metadata As a long-time (11 years) user of FCP, the reality is that Apple have showed users who rely on their product that they are not worthy of such trust. You see - even if Apple restored EVERY SINGLE ONE of the missing features from FCP7 tomorrow, the stark reality is that you now know that Apple is capable of doing this to you again, 2 years, 3 years, or 5 years down the track. Ironically, it was Apple's desire to make this product future-proof that has made some people assume that they are not interested in its future development.I won't repeat what so many others have said about this new release, just point out something to those people who want to give a pass to Apple for this debacle. This latest point release of FCPX has added back some of the missing functionality. With a little patience, I think we will see Final Cut Pro X and later becoming a firm professional favourite for video editing again. As for software developers changing directions and doing what they like? Well, there is no large corporation out there likely to please everyone all the time. That makes it more FCP than FCPX in my view how ironic.FYI, I know 6 different editing apps including Avid and Quantel, have 20+ years editing experience (mainly broadcast), have worked on just about anything you can imagine, and own mostly Macs. It just won't ever be the same again.I've already started looking at Premiere Pro - apparently that can import FCP7 projects and even map the keyboard like FCP. They can release as many damage control faqs as they like - but the truth is they blew it in respect of how anybody will view ANY of their products as a long-term productivity companion that can be trusted to be an investment worth making.I said to a friend, this is something like coming home and finding your wife in bed with another man. It is no longer about FCP, it is about APPLE and how they act as a company. Now many would think that this is just Apple making things better and some naysayers don't want to embrace the "new way".That couldn't be farther from the truth, in fact the new way of editing isn't all that bad and could well be adjusted to - it's the lack of features, the non-compatibility with previous FCP versions, the secret timeline, the immediate cutting of FCP 7, the way of distributing this for enterprises and the way it organizes itself in the familiar way of iPhoto, i.e. This is a solid enough entry into prosumerism, and perhaps the "pro" in FCPX stands for prosumer, and not professional. That said, it has to be compared to FCP 7, the last professional entry into the series. Use this software at your peril - there are many other companies out there that will never do to you what Apple did to a large proportion of their most loyal userbase a month ago.FCP is no more in this re-imagining of what non-linear editing should be. It tells you all you need to know about whether or not to rely on them. I consider this the worst mistake Apple have ever made. 'nuff said on that.Upgraded to FCP4/HD on a second G4 *(Not primary machine) then attempted to "re-do" and entire project from capture to Final DVD using FCP4/HD to see if there would be any problems.Well. So, I know what I'm doing & I have to be productive with tight deadlines. It is priced accordingly.Ive been using FCP3 for 2 years, over 20 Full length movies & full feature DVD's (DVDSP 1.5) & its been ROCK SOLID! I have several nominations and One "BEST DVD OF THE YEAR" award - AVN Awards. Because it's a consumer application. NEXT UP.No Rendering previews like FCP3. After an entire day, I moved on. All tapes capture perfect in 3, out of 18 tapes, I could capture ONE in its entirety, the rest would not go. A little faster, but why take away the draft render mode? thats just LAME! NEXT up. & there is NO DRAFT render, so you have to WAIT!!! even on a G5. There is NO real time anything. ![]() Is a track selected or not for copy or paste? FCP3 was very cleqar & simple.
